Mercury slip ring, also known as rotary connector, rotary joint, mercury contact, conductive joint, conductive ring, collector ring, collector ring, etc. Unlike traditional carbon brush slip rings, which use liquid mercury as a conductive medium, the fixed end and rotating end are integrated together, eliminating the need for carbon brushes. Today, the editor will mainly introduce to you the details that should be paid attention to when installing mercury slip rings?

What details should be noted when installing mercury slip rings:
1. The temperature of the mercury slip ring should not exceed 60 ℃, with surrounding temperature and self heating (rotation+power on).
2. When installing the mercury slip ring vertically, it is necessary to keep the UP facing upwards, and it is also necessary to keep it facing upwards during storage.
3. When installing the mercury slip ring rotary connector on the axis, it should not be eccentric. When installing the locking screw, it is best to use a three-point locking method.
4. Do not weld or heat the mercury slip ring rotary connector itself or copper terminals.
5. The dedicated mercury slip ring connection terminal cannot be reused multiple times.
6. Rotating the mercury slip ring will reduce its service life if it vibrates.
7. This connector can be used to fix the outer shell or plastic part into the shaft, and then insert the terminal wire to pull the rotating part. One end of the mercury slip ring is fixed to the shaft, and the other end is floating on the external fixing part, but it can never bear weight.
8. If the above matters are not followed, it will cause varying degrees of damage to the rotary connector or reduce the service life of the mercury slip ring.
For small and high-precision mercury slip rings, fixing them by rotation is a very difficult problem. How to install them correctly and reasonably? First, fix the mercury slip ring on one end of the rotation axis.
The coaxiality with the rotating axis will affect the service life of the slip ring. Secondly, both ends of the mercury slip ring can rotate, and either end can be fixed. And it is necessary to use the wiring terminals provided with the conductive slip ring, which can ensure the service life. It is absolutely not allowed to directly weld the wires to the slip ring terminal.
